1) Field Trips to IBA - The Giving Barre

A hands-on ballet experience for schools, preschools, and youth organizations

The Giving Barre opens the doors of the International Ballet Academy to our youngest community members, offering a unique opportunity to step inside the world of dance.

Designed for preschool through 5th grade, these interactive field trips give students a chance to:

  • Explore behind the scenes with guided tours of our studios.

  • Participate in mini-lessons that introduce the basics of ballet in a fun, accessible way.

  • Engage in creative activities that connect movement, imagination, and storytelling.

  •

During their visit, students will experience the home of IBA dancers, the same dancers who perform in beloved IBT productions like The Nutcracker and Alice in Wonderland, and who are actively involved in supporting our Outreach Programs. Here, children see where dancers train, take class, and prepare for performances, making the connection between practice, artistry, and community impact come alive.

The Giving Barre is more than a field trip,  it’s a way to spark curiosity, inspire creativity, and make the arts accessible to every child. Whether students are discovering ballet for the first time or deepening their appreciation for the performing arts, they’ll leave with a sense of joy, wonder, and connection.

Field trips are free of charge and available by request to schools, preschools, homeschools, and youth organizations.
